Clicking the pen against the desk, making the tip appear, Hiro began jotting down a pass for a student, signed it, and allowed him to go. There was only an hour left to class, what was he hurting?
Of course, as soon as he left, Hiro checked the schedule, just to be sure, and, in sheer ignorance, he realized the class got out in a few minutes. Looking at his desk clock, he realized he hadn’t reset it for daylight savings. Oops.
Oh well, that would come later. “Alright, everyone, I’ll give you a break. Go ahead and start… Ben?” Looking directly at him, he noted the look of concern on Ben’s face, and nodded, “Anyway, disregarding that, just have a nice lunch, alright? Never mind just sitting here, may as well use your energy.” Waving them off, he offered Ben a seat.
“Benny baby, what’s wrong?”
“Well, uhm…” Twirling a blonde hair, showing through his hat, he started again, “My parents died, and they put me here… But I needed adoptive parents… So… Um… I recommended you, and…” Biting his nail in a cute manner, he continued, “They’re going to put me here, and you’re my parents until 18…”
“Alright… I mean, I already have my sister, so I can’t parent you one-handedly… What about that?” Not that he was hesitant to take Ben under his wing; Hell, he was like the brother he never had…
Bursting into a fit of tears, Ben grabbed a tissue, and blew his nose.
“Aww! I’m not saying I won’t take you in if you don’t have another person willing to help out! I’m just saying it’d be difficult, since…” Soon enough, like the emotional sap he was, he began to cry as well...
